On Thurs, Nov 17th, Community Care Rx hosted its 2nd Annual Direct Support Professionals of the Year Awards and Gala event honoring DSPs from various organizations who have gone above and beyond their call of responsibility. This year, Lifespire had the privilege to nominate and congratulate Samantha Richardson, one of our great DSPs who works at our Chelsea IRA (Individualized Residential Alternative). The gala was held at the North Hills Country Club in Manhasset, Long Island.
According to Samantha's supervisor, David Bambrick, Residential Program Coordinator (RPC), Samantha worked countless hours throughout the pandemic; going above and beyond for people supported. He stated how Samantha is very person-centered in every interaction and always has everyone's best interests at heart.
When an individual had a serious brain injury and was not able to return to her home due to her new level of care, Samantha went to the nursing facility almost every night to visit her, to bring items to help her remember her home, and to be a comfort to the individual when it was unknown if the individual could hear/understand.
This is one of several ways Samantha is both cherished and valued at Lifespire. We are grateful and excited to honor her for her devoted care and support.
