NYS Partners in Policymaking is accepting applications for Fall 2019!

New York State Partners in Policymaking is an online training course in disability advocacy, funded by the NYDDPC, and it is free to people with developmental disabilities and their family members.

The Partners experience offers individuals living with an intellectual/developmental disability and their family members a terrific opportunity to develop the skills and confidence needed to become effective advocates. Program participants to take on a personal advocacy project designed to influence or impact important issues that affect the lives of people living with disabilities. Participants join an online learning community where they access the course material and interact with one another.

Partners is currently accepting applications from people with developmental disabilities and their family members for the fall training session, which starts September 5. You can read more about the Partners program, and apply to join the Fall 2019 Class.

Que es el Autismo?

Durante los últimos diez anos, Lifespire ha estado ejecutando un Programa de Respiro y Alivio para los padres en el Bronx y Manhattan, el programa es para adolescentes y adultos jóvenes que se encuentran en el espectro del Autismo.

Este programa es con el propósito de proveerle ayuda a los padres, un alivio y Respiro que ellos pueden tener en lo que sus hijos reciben servicios de recreación despues de la escuela, servicios que a la misma vez, los ayuda a mejorar sus destrezas de comunicación y socialización.

For the past 10 years,  Lifespire has been running a successful Respite program in the Bronx and Manhattan for adolescents and young adults who are on the Autism Spectrum.
